Big Boy Bed!

Carter is officially in a big boy bed!  I really didn't want to switch him into a big boy bed until I absolutely HAD to, because I remember what a pain it was to keep Caleb in his bed when we "released" him.  I didn't want to have to go through that with Carter.  He always went down so well I didn't want to change a thing.  But, since he realized he could climb out of the crib I haven't been able to keep him in it!  So, we decided to convert his crib into the toddler bed.  He slept in it for the first time last night and it actually worked out to our benefit because he was able to get out of bed before he threw up.  But, he has stayed in it for nap today and bedtime tonight.  But, I am afraid that it might have been because he was so tired from staying up all night last night.

Now, the next step would be to move him over to the bunk beds and put Caleb on top!  Although, we really need to get Caleb to get up to potty in the middle of the night.  He rarely has a dry pull-up, I don't know what the deal is!  I think he sleeps too deeply, but a dry pull-up is SO rare that I can't even figure out an incentive program for him.  I don't know.

Sick Kiddo, again!

I don't know what it is, but this house has been a pukey house lately!  Caleb and Carter both went through a spell a couple weeks ago that each of them had to have their sheets changed 2 or 3 times in one night, because they threw up in the middle of the night.  The next day they were fine, but it was weird.  Well, last night again it happened.  Carter woke up about 11:30 last night crying and started to throw up.  We cleaned him up and put him back in bed and within 1/2 hour he was puking again.  Poor kiddo.  We let him sit on our laps in the living room for awhile, put him back in bed and he was up again.  So we ended up just sleeping on the couch with him until the middle of the night.  He seemed to feel better today, still a little sluggish, but probably because he was tired.  He kept telling us he didn't feel good and his tummy hurt.

I am hoping that this will be it for awhile!!

Snow day!

Well, it was the first snow of the season.  Caleb woke up yesterday morning announcing that it was Christmas!  I guess since there is snow, it is Chrismas!  haha!  Well, yesterday we leftr for town to get groceries before the weather turned worse, but ended up staying about 5 hours longer than expected!  We didn't get home until after 7pm.  And had to drive in zero visibility home... that sucked.  A lot.

But, today we got to stay home all day.  We woke up late (story to come later) and hung out in our jammies for most of the day!  I made chocolate chip cookies and cut out cookies.  Also made beef stew for the fam.  It was a nice productive day!  It was VERY cold out today, but I bundled up the kids and took them outside to play in the snow.  Carter kept doing belly flops in the snow!  I think we only stayed out as long as it took us to get our gear on!  But, it was worth it! Later we decorated our cut out cookies.  Carter started eating his cookie before decorating it, but made up for it by eating the frosting by itself, too!  Caleb really liked decorating the cookies.  He was having a lot of fun with it.  And of course went way overboard on the sprinkles!  Pictures to come.

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we went to my parents house on Thursday.  I helped cook as much as I was able to (with the kids running around).  We ate lunch with my parents, Aunt Shell, Alex and Great Uncle Roger.  Carter was quite the food thief!  I had steamed sweet potatoes sliced on the cutting board ready to go in the syrup and Carter would sneak over and steal a piece.  Once I was just about to catch him in the act and he shoved it in his mouth so fast I could barely grab him!  haha!  He must have been hungry, because then he snuck the entire bowl of green beans off the counter and started eating those!

Carter is 2!

Last Sunday Carter turned 2 year old!!  It was a fairly uneventful day, we let him pick out a toy at Wal-Mart.  But, otherwise it was a pretty normal day- despite singing Happy Birthday every hour!  :0)

On Carter's 2nd birthday he learned how to climb out of his crib!  So when we put him and Caleb down for a nap he climbed out to play.  Constantly.  So pretty soon we will be turning his crib into a toddler bed.  Once he gets comfortable with that we will try putting him in the bunk beds.
