Sick, Sick, Sick

A couple weeks ago Caleb started coughing.  The very next morning I was called by the school nurse and was told that he had a fever and needed to be picked up.  So, I picked him up and we had a sick day on Friday.  The next morning Carter was sick too.  They both were coughing and complaining of a sore throat.  We hoped they wouldn't get anyone else in the house sick- especially Kiera.  But, Sunday night I started to get a runny nose and sneezes.  Thankfully only a couple days later I was better.  I took the boys to the doctor on Monday to see if they had strep as they were not better after the weekend and the doctor wasn't sure if their symptoms were strep or just a virus.  They were diagnosed with just a virus, but I was glad I kept Caleb at home another day as he slept all day.

About a week later Chris ended up getting a really bad sore throat and had to get antibiotics.  And then... Kiera started getting sick.  She was up most of the night Monday night and was just crying uncontrollably, I could tell something was just wrong.  So I called the doctor and got in that morning.  She had a low-grade fever and the doctor ran some tests to figure out what was wrong. He did a CDC and a urine culture and both came back normal.  He said she must just be coming down with something and only time will tell.  She slept most of the day and still ran a fever through the night.  The doctor called me the next morning to see how she was doing.  Since she still had a fever he wanted to see her again.  He still couldn't see anything wrong with her so he ran a test for RSV and influenza, both came back negative.  He ran a blood test again, too.  Kiera slept again most of the day.  Today (Thursday) I kept her home again since she is still running a fever.  She is starting to feel better though, I can tell because she is finally smiling and talking again.  I feel so sad when she doesn't feel good.  In a sense I wish something was wrong so we could fix it rather than her just feeling bad.

4 months old!

Kiera is now 4 months old!  She had her 4 month checkup about a week ago.  She was 24 inches long and 14 pounds 10 ounces.  Her weight is in the 50th percentile, which kind of surprises me since she looks so chunky!  :0) 

Kiera has been at day care for a couple weeks now.  She is doing really well.  The girls who work in her room say she is a very happy and content baby.  She will lay very content watching everyone play.  That makes me feel better about leaving her knowing she is happy and does well.

Kiera is still very happy and smiley for us.  She talks all the time.  She has started to make this growling/gurgling sound which cracks me up! 

We have put her in her bumbo and in her exersaucer and she is doing really well sitting in them. 

She is still wearing 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers, but both are starting to get snug already.  I went to our local consignment shop and bought her a 6-9 month wardrobe.  I love shopping cheap.  I got so many cute name-brand items.  She is set for awhile once she gets big enough.

While working from home the other day I had Kiera sitting on my lap.  I had the computer in front of us on the bumbo and she ended up falling asleep.  What a cutie. 

Everyone is bigger!

Not only is the baby girl growing bu ther big brother is too!  We had to get out Carter's "all new" 4T wardrobe.
