It was so nice outside that when Caleb and I got home I blew up the pool at we headed outside! I only put about an inch of water in the pool, but he loved it! As cold as the water was, Caleb still did not want to get out of that pool! Every time I would try he would crawl right back into the pool. It was funny! He is definitely going to be a water baby. We went across the street to Isaac's house later that evening and they had a small tub of water out for toys. Caleb decided he would crawl in that too! He is such a stinker. He was trying to steal all of Isaac's toys away from him. He grabbed a rake right out of his hand and would push a small wagon away from where Isaac was standing. Finally, Issac pulled the wagon out past the driveway, probably hoping Caleb wouldn't be able to get it over there! Too funny, I can't wait to see how they play together when they get older! I will put on pool pictures later!
Have a great rest of the week!

Eventful Weekend
This weekend we went back home Friday night to Chris' mom's house. We were celebrating Justin's "fake" birthday. We had a quick grill out and then went to the carnival in Jefferson. That was the saddest carnival I have ever seen! Half of the ride weren't even working. The blow-up jumpy house was even deflating as the kids jumped in it! It was awful. We finally got back to my parents house around 11pm. Caleb fell asleep around 11:30! Way too late!
The next morning we got up early to head back to Jefferson to watch Karen run in the 5K. She placed first in her age group. Chris decided to be in her fan club and wrote "Go Karen" on his stomach. yes, he's a dork! After the race we headed up to the school where the parade floats were lining up. Sharon decorates cakes, so she put her cake business in the parade again this year. Caleb and I walked the route while I passed out business cards and he slept! After the parade we went to Sharon's house again where Chris hooked up their new DVD player.
After that it, was off again, this time to Denison where my Grandparents live. They haven't seen Caleb since Christmas. It stinks that we can't see them more often, but they live so far away it is hard to get over there. Caleb had fun at their house. He was climbing the stairs like crazy, he was very speedy! Caleb's Oba got him a cake so we let him dig into it again, he got he hang of it a little better this time!
We went out to eat at a Chinese Buffet in Denison and one of the waitresses came over and held out her arms like she wanted to pick up Caleb. At first I was like- yeah right, he won't go to you! But he did! She started to walk away from the table with him... I wasn't quite sure what to do. I knew she wasn't going to harm him, but how strange is that??? The waitress taking him and walking around! Anyway, that was about it for our eventful weekend. We are just trying to get Caleb back into a sleeping routine again! Too many late nights.

One Year Check Up
On Friday, Chris said that Caleb started crying when he dropped him off at day care. This was very unusual, because normally he is so busy playing he barely notices us leave. I went to drop him off today and he barely let me hand him over to the girl working. That was tough! So I figured separation anxiety was setting in. Tonight we went to the doctor for his 1 year check up. When we got to the doctor we checked in to pay our co-pay and Caleb was smiley, and very flirtatious with the clerk. We sat in the waiting room and he was all over the place and flirting/smiling at everyone. The second he saw the nurse, he screamed! Oh, my goodness! It's like he could sense what they were going to do to him next! He weighed 20 lbs 12 oz, which is in the 15 %tile, he was 29 in long which is the 40 %tile. So all in all he is little, but healthy. The doctor said we are doing all the right things, and to keep it up... Well, the doctor had to walk in the room to tell us this and to check him out and the entire time Caleb screamed. We were even holding him and he was screaming. The doctor left the room and Caleb was fine. Then of course the nurse had to come back with his 3 shots and another lady came to take blood. Let's just say by the time this appointment was over, Caleb didn't smile at the ladies at the receptionist counter or the people in the waiting room. He barely wanted to look at us because we let them do it! 6 more months and we get to do it all over again! Woo hooo!

Party Time!
We had Caleb's birthday party today. We rented the Senior Center behind our house. It was lots of fun. We served lunch to our families before the party started, then the kids went outside to play at the park. All of my family came and most of Chris' family came. Jason and Mindy came with Emma, Scott and Nolan, the Swaab's, Leslie and Matt, and Caleb's old babysitter Linda came with her daughter. We had a pretty good turn out.

Caleb's Grandma Sharon made his cakes. WE had a construction theme, so she put a dump truck on the big cake and a number 1 on Caleb's little cake. At first Caleb was eating his cake slowly and little bites at a time, so Chris put his hand into it. Then he started getting bored so he tipped his plate and his cake dumped onto the floor. Cake was then thrown, rubbed into his hair and dropped down his back. When I cleaned him up I had to take off his shirt because he had so many cake crumbs down the back of his shirt. It was really funny. When it was time to open presents Caleb didn't want to do much with that. So I got to sit in front of everyone oohing and aahing over all the gifts Caleb was getting. He did get a lot of really awesome stuff, but it was still awkward opening my sons gifts for him. All in all it was a really good day. After all of the party guests left Emma and Nolan came over to play for awhile. Then Emma and her family stayed for supper.
