Okay, so I finally jumped with both feet onto a new path of my life. I quit my job a couple weeks ago. I decided that the hours just didn't work for my family any longer. I have been thinking about it quite awhile (pretty much since Kiera was born.) But, when Kiera was sick for almost 2 weeks and couldn't go to daycare, my supervisor mentioned that I should try to figure out another solution rather than staying at home with my sick child. This is also the start to Chris' busy season and I was told, again that I really shouldn't take off mornings- therefore I should take all 3 of my children to daycare at 6am, when they will have to be there until 6pm. It is also the boys' heavy sports season and I was encouraged to find someone to take them to their games... I made my decision the very next day that I would stay home with my children. They are 100 times more important to me than my job. Of course Chris would NEVER let me stay at home without bringing in some sort of income, so I have decided to do in-home daycare. We have done the math and with the over $1,000 we are paying in daycare each month that we will be saving, I will only have to watch 2 kids to make end meet. I have found once family, with the help of my neighbor, that has a little girl that is a couple months younger than Kiera, plus they are pregnant with #2 due in May or June. Our other neighbors are pregnant and due in March. So, I just have to find 1 more part-time or temporary child to watch that will start right away. I have my feelers out and am trying to recruit a family that I have worked with at Kids Club (just for their baby).
I am very excited for this new adventure. I am getting nervous, though the more I think about it. But, I am hoping everything will fall into place nicely. (I think I am more nervous about how it will effect the disfunction/organization of our house.)
That is a quick update to our lives. Hopefully I will be able to blog more now! yeah, right. :0)
