Nothing new

I am such a horrible blogger, because there is never anything new in my life. It is always the same old, go to work come home play with Caleb, nap time, work, take Caleb to day care, go back to work, get home, eat, sleep and start the routine all over again!

Last week was pretty busy, though. The school had conferences so school let out early on Wed and Thurs. Then had no school on Friday. When school has these early outs and no school days that are planned then, my program runs even longer! So the end of the week last week was very hectic. The kids worked on a Service Learning project on those days. We fed the teachers a Mexican Fiesta. Since they have to stay their until 8:00 at night we decided to do something special for the teachers. There were about 40 teachers. The kids helped cut the vegetables and make festive decorations. It went really well. I was exhausted!

Friday night we had a little bit of excitement... Our neighbor was home early from work with her son and she was baking while Nolan slept. She started feeling kind of weird and thought she smelled gas. So she left the house with Nolan and told the city and called me. I told her to make herself at home at our house since I was still at work. Not even an hour later I got home with Caleb. Our entire street was filled with fire trucks, ambulances, Alliant trucks, First Responders, etc. When I walked in she was sitting at my dining table with a blood pressure cuff on her arm. It was all quite serious looking, and would have been terrible scary had I not known part of the story already. Turns out no gas leak, just a horrible chemical smell from the new oven burning off residue.

Saturday we went outside because it was so nice out and Nolan came over to play with Caleb. We pulled them in a sled in the park behind our house. Then went over to Nolan's house to play and eat pizza. It was fun. Caleb's new favorite word is "MINE". (You have to say that with an urgent screaming sound!)

Sunday I had a girls only day. A friend of mine and I went out to eat at Hickory Park and hen enjoyed a movie at a movie theater. Not the Dollar theater either, a real theater. We watched "27 Dresses" which was a great chic flick. I like the brainless romantic comedies that are pretty predictable, but funny and relaxing to watch.

So far this week has been pretty normal, at least for his month. Work, Early out for snow, late start for snow.... etc etc. :) Our theme this week us Chocolate, so it is a fantastic week for staff!!! Well, I will stop writing about my absolutely boring life.

  2. I concur. I check your blog daily to see if you've posted pictures or updated. I am usually disappointed :( Please continue to share your daily routine. That's what people like to read for some reason.
