I haven't updated this for a long time! Everytime I think about it I get overwhelmed with all of the things I need to update, but I think I will just start off from now and worry about the past later.
This morning Carter crawled on my lap and I started ricking him saying "nigh-night baby". Caleb informed me that Carter is not a baby- he is a guy. haha!
Caleb can count in Spanish now! He can count on his own to 'seis' pretty well.
Carter got a haircut a couple weekends ago! His "hawk" was starting to look pretty scraggly, so I decided to cut off the to pof his hair. I think I did a pretty good job. I will post pictures later.
I put a couple of pictures of the kids on KCCI to enter their Globetrotter contest and WON! I won 4 tickets to the Harlem Globetrotter game in March. Caleb went last year and LOVED it, so I am hoping the seat are better this year and I am sure he will love it again!
Valentine's day went really well. I bought Caleb a shirt that has Mario on it, he loved it! Also, a small box of candy, some play-doh toys and Car's UNO. Carter got a disc ball and chocolates. I bought Chris Mario Kart and some Lindor truffles! yum! Chris and I went out on a date Saturday night while the boys stayed at home with Stephanie. We left the house about 5pm and went straight to the Latin King in Des Moines, when we got there we had a 2 hour wait already! So we put in our name and left for awhile. We went to the mall and walked around for a short time. We went back to the restaurant a little early and had to wait less than 5 minutes to get seated. The food was awesome! We had toasted raviolis for an appetizer and I was expecting the premade in a box kind and they were homemade! We also had bruschetta which was also very delicious. I had Gnocchi and it was also homemade! Chris had manicotti and you could tell that they hand rolled the manicotti instead of filling a premade tube- definitely a restaurant I will go back to! Next time, Spaghetti alla Carbonara! I can't wait. We left the restaurant and went to the theatre in Ankeny. We got there about an hour before our movie was supposed to start, but we went in fairly early still. Thank goodness, becuase we had to stand in a line that wrapped almost around the entire lobby! We watched Valentine's Day. It was a pretty cute movie. We got home about midnight.
Carter is talking more and more lately. He has quite the sense of humor, too. But, the temper to go with it. Boy, can he scream! Carter says "Hi" a lot. It is my favorite thing to hear when I get home in the morning and evening. He babbles da-da and ma-ma. When asked he can say quite a few things, but not on his own very often.
Caleb is doing great with his counting lately. We worked on a puzzle at the library the other day that matched the numbers 1-12 with a picture with that many items. He was able to match them together no problem, then put them in order from 1- 12. He mixed up 9 and 10, but could tell there was something wrong. I really want to work on fine motor skills with him now. He doesn't do a lot of coloring and drawing (never has been interested) or play-doh so, I bought him new toys and am making a more conscious effort to push those skills. Along with letter recognition. Shapes are pretty good for him, as well as colors.
Caleb is very excited to be '4' soon. He says that after four he will be five and go to Kindergarten. He is very excited to go to Kindergarten. I have decided to enroll him in Pre-school next Fall. He will go to his daycare for their preschool program MWF in the mornings. I am excited to have the one-on-one time with Carter.
Caleb had a Valentine's party the other morning, so Carter and I were at home alone and it was such a joy. Carter snuggled on my lap, read books, "fed" me food from his kitchen and just hung out. It was nice being able to spend that time with him. I felt like I had never had that time. So, next Fall will be special with the two of us hanging out!
