Today Chris and I both had the day off for the Fourth. It was a pretty good day. We went to the zoo this morning, we got to ride the train where Caleb saw his friend Beau from day care. Caleb took pictures of everything in site- one really good one of the penguins for Grandma! And another of some ladies butt- yes, he stood there long enough behind some random person and took a picture of her butt. What a dork. On the way home we ate at a Mexican restaurant in Ankeny, then ran to Home Depot to price bathroom things.
On the way home Caleb fell asleep in the car and actually stayed in bed sleeping after we got home, too. So since both boys were sleeping, I decided to take a nap, too! Aaaaaaah, sleep. What a wonderful thing! After our nap we decided to go into Ames and eat at a new Italian restaurant and take Caleb to his first movie theater movie. The restaurant looked mighty fancy when we were there- it had table clothes and cloth napkins, but the food sucked! We got Pizza Margherita and Penne Pomodoro with grilled chicken and smoked mozzerella. Sounds good right, not the case- the grilled chicken was fake! It was premade, precooked, preformed nastiness. blech!
Anyway, Caleb did great at the theater. We watched Monsters Vs. Aliens. When we first got there Carter was sleeping, but the noise I think woke him up. So at the start of the movie I took Carter out of his car seat, because he was crying. The second he saw the screen he stopped and he was glued. For a moment during the movie I wished I could've taken a picture. Caleb was standing up with his chin resting on the seats in front of us and Carter was sitting on my lap- both faces glued to the screen. They were in a transe. I think Caleb has a new love for the "big teewee" and I have a feeling we will be going back often- can't wait to watch Up and Ice Age!
