Updates

Here are some more updates on the boys.  Summer ended somewhat abruptly.  I was looking forward to it being over because of work, but it was a sudden shock when we couldn't do our Tuesday Fun Days anymore.

Caleb started the First Grade this year.  His teacher's name is Miss Becker.  She is a newer teacher, but so far she is doing pretty well.  I was worried she wouldn't be able to handle Caleb's "crazies".  He is in a class with two boys from Kindergarten that he really likes- Jake and Chance.  The school year is going well so far he is really doing well in Math learning addition and subtraction.  Each week he writes in a journal that comes home for us to write back to him.  He also has a great reading system each month that he tries to read as many minutes as he can, getting a bead for a necklace at school after every 100 minutes.  It is really motivating him to read everyday (when we can).  He is becoming pretty good at reading.  He chooses hard books sometimes and to hear him try to read them is quite humerous as he just skims by the hard words, which makes you wonder how he even knows what is going on in the story.  It is pretty fun to hear him read everything, or at least try.

Carter was pretty excited for summer to end.  When Caleb started school Carter wanted nothing but to go to school as well.  He was pretty excited to see all of his friends.  He still only goes to school in the afternoons and when I work all day.  But, he loves that time with his friends.  He has a buddy named Jack that he especially gets along with.  They had a couple playdates over the summer even.  Jack is pretty crazy and when the two of them get together they are a ball of energy!  Carter has several good buddies in his class Greyson and Silas are 2 of them.  Carter gets a little preschool in each week when he attends daycare all day and I can really tell through him wanting to write, or noticing letters and numbers.

Both boys are in sports this Fall which is keeping this tired pregnant mommy on her toes!  Here is our weekly schedule. Now remember, I am supposed to be working until 6pm each of these nights and Chris is gone in the field.
Mondays- 5:45 Soccer Carter game, Caleb practice
Tuesdays- 5:45 Caleb soccer game
Wednesdays- Supposed to have Carter's soccer practice- choose to skip.
Thursdays- 6:00 Caleb Football practice
Fridays- Crash!
Saturdays- Caleb football in the morning.
Getting supper on the table and not losing my mind each of the nights with soccer and football has been a chore.  Especially with Chris being in the field.

Harvest started about 3 weeks ago.  Very early this year due to the early Spring planting.  Chris actually just finished their last field Friday night!  Pretty darn impressive finishing before October, especially considering the year I was pregnant with Carter we were hoping he would be done before Carter was born- November 28th!

Update- baby contractions later...
