This has been a good last few days. On Saturday I had a "Girls Night Out" afternoon. We got our nails done and went out to eat at a Mexican Restaurant. Then Saturday evening Chris and I took the kids to Midnight Madness in Ames. It was a 5k/10k run. We didn't run, but watched a few friends and Chris' sister. It was a good time. Lots of people and plenty of entertainment. It made me both nervous and more motivated for my 5k coming up at the end of August.
Sunday we didn't do too much in the morning. After Carter's nap we went grocery shopping. When we got home at 5:30 the neighbors were all out playing, so I took Caleb and Carter across the street to play thinking we would be out for a few minutes, then go eat supper. We went to Nolan's house and played in the pool and on the "water slide" and ended up staying until 9:30! It was a great time. The kids really didn't get a supper that night. Unless you count Sour Cream and Onion potato chips as a decent supper! haha...
This morning was my first day of "vacation". Our babysitter needed the week off, so I decided I would also take the week off. This morning we took the van in for an oil change, then ate at Subway for lunch. Then met a friend and her 2 kids at the new aquatic center in Ames. It was a lot of fun! Caleb really enjoyed all the slides! It was a zero entry pool, so Carter liked being able to walk around on his own. It started to rain just as they were closing "tot-time" which was perfect timing. Erin and I have planned to meet up again on Thursday for the Science Center! I love having nothing to do!!
This week off for me is going to be relaxing and without work. I feel that whenever I have taken off I have always snuck work time in and this week I am going to try to not do that at all. I am going to enjoy time at home with the boys and getting things done around the house.
