Counting Caleb

Since Caleb was born I have been stealing Chris' change off the counter and putting it into Caleb's piggy bank in his room. The other day we went to the bank to turn it in and he has $57 in change. That didn't even include all the $20's, 10's and 5's from birthdays, Christmas and other holidays. I was amazed!

Anyway, I have started letting Caleb put the money in his bank on his own now and last night I gave him a small handful of change. While he puts them in I usually count the coins as they drop. Last night I started counting and when I got to six I thought I heard him say something that resembled seven. I didn't think anything of it- went on and when I got to eight he then said, nine! I couldn't believe my ears! I know a lot of that skill probably has to do with daycare, but it makes me feel good that he is getting more from daycare than just the social aspect.
