We had Carter's appointment with the ear specialist today. He ended up telling us that Carter currently has an ear infection- 3rd this month!
My biggest "fear" about getting tubes was that it is right before summer. Summer should be the season where he doesn't get infections, plus going swimming are we going to have to deal with ear plugs.
The doctor said that with all the fluid that is built up he could get an infection whether it is cold season or not. And that unless he dunks his head a lot in the pool we shouldn't have to worry about water getting in there. We should just dry his ears when we are done.
I think we are going to end up doing it. I know it will make him a much better baby. He has started talking more and more this week and I feel that without the fluid build-up in his ears maybe he will be talking more and clearer. Some of the things he says are prety slurred, even for a baby. He said nigh-nigh today to Caleb for nap. Said bye-bye when we left for the dr office this morning. I swear he has been saying tree...the other day he said "stinky" (to an extent) I knew that it was that, because I just said it. There are several others I will try to post later.
