We had a busy weekend this past weekend. Saturday our plan was to go to Ames to the mall and then get groceries, head home give Carter a nap, then go to Ankeny for more shopping, go to DM for Ruby Tuesday's then off to the Globetrotter's game. Well, here is what actually happened. We got a really late start on Saturday, went to Ames just in time to hit a drive thru for the boys so they could eat lunch on the way to the Mall. About 3/4 of the way to the mall Chris noticed the Durango was smoking. We pulled over and noticed it was the drivers wheel that was almost on fire! Chris had just got the brake pads and rotors done at a shop in Ames just a few blocks away so we went straight there. They said that a caliber froze. Thankfully since they just did the brake pads, etc. they cut us a slight deal and gave us a new brake pad for free... woohoo. Still shelled out about $200! Well, we still went to the Mall after that and went to Penney's. I have had my heart set on the outfits I tried on the time before that and showed them to Chris. He agreed they looked nice so he bought them for me! Along with a couple items for Carter. Then we went to Payless and bought the boys dress sandals, a pair of tennis shoes for Caleb and soccer cleats, too.
We ran home after that to give Carter a quick nap while we relaxed a little. Then left to go to an "early" supper at Ruby Tuesday's. Thankfully we went as early as we did ( we got there at 5) because we already had to wait! ugh. Side note- do NOT eat at Ruby Tuesday's if you are on a diet unless you don't get the salad bar! Too much good food! We went to the Harlem Globetrotter's game after that. We had free tickets from KCCI, they were nose-bleed seats if I ever saw 'em! It was so high up that I was even getting a little vertigo! We decided we would sneak down to lower seats when we noticed that there were not many people there. We ended up telling one of the "security" that Caleb was freaking out from the heights, so they sat us in a "handicap" area that was behind this gate- really good area for small children. We ended up getting popcorn since Caleb was begging for it! He ate almost half the bag on his own!
Sunday we cleaned, cleaned and cleaned some more. Finally about 3 pm we cleaned ourselves up and wentot Ankeny to get groceries. We of course went to Kohl's too! I had a 30% off coupon and most things were 40% off already! Good deals! I spent $103 and saved $183! Wow! I got Carter a couple summer outfits and a pair of super cute "keen" knock-offs. Caleb got an outfit, too. I witheld from buying anything since I am not sure what to buy and when yet.
So that was our busy weekend!
