Long Day

I woke up in the middle of the night last night to thunder and noises on our roof.  When I looked outside it was crazy windy and I could barely see anything, because the lightning was like a strobe light right in my eyes.  It was wierd how often it was lightning(ing)  :0)  I ended up going back to bed after giving Chris his phone since the power was out.

When Chris got up this morning I was woke up to- "Well, I don't even see the swingset and the yard is full of debris!"  Awesome.  I headed out there in my jammies to assess the damage and sure enough the swingset was toppled over the opposite direction of last year's tumble.  There were several large branches down in the yard as well.  We figured that even if the swingset didn't take a tumble that it would have been crushed by one of the branches.  Luckily, the swingset didn't tumble one more time into our neighbors vehicle and that none of the branches landed on our house, car or shed.

Carter joined us in the yard in his jammies shortly and we began clean-up.  We were still without power at this point.  Chris ran to Ames and bought a chainsaw.  So Carter and I rolled the wheelbarrow over to the side yard and we began clean up.  About halfway through the front yard Carter exclaims "This game is over!"  Haha!  I told him it isn't over until the yard is done.  "AaAaWw".  heehee.  He is too funny!

While we were all outside this morning Caleb was still in bed sleeping.  Carter and I were coming in the house for a potty break and I told Carter to be quiet so we wouldn't wake up Caleb (at 9:45) and I hear Caleb say "I already and awake and I can't get dressed" as he walks over to the stairs naked.  He said taht he tried to turn on the lights and he can't get them to work, so he can't get dressed!  haha!  He even had to show me that the light switch in his room wouldn't work by flipping it on and off repeatedly!  haha!

We finally got power about 5pm, but lost it at 6:30.  Then got it again about 8:45.  Hopefully now for good!!  Let's hope for no more crazy storms!!  You would think we had a tornado as much damage that occured, but the whistle never even went off!
