Sitter Issues

Ugh!  Can we ever find a sitter that we LOVE??  The first year of us hiring a highschooler for summer we hired our neighbor girl Stephanie.  She was really good with the kids, just kind of quiet with us.  The next summer we hired a girl named Cassandra, she fell asleep, called in sick mulitiple times, etc.  So we fired her about 2-3 weeks into summer.  Thankfully Stephanie hadn't founda job yet, so we hired her again for the summer.  This Spring we started our search for a highschooler and settled on Chelsie, who had been a Kids Clubber at my work so I felt I knew her pretty well.  The first couple weeks went well.  The kids were pretty naughty for her according to Chelsie, but that isn't anything out of the ordinary!  But, then we noticed she was on her phone almost all the time texting, even while we were standing there talking to her about the boys' day, plus seeing that she was on facebook most of the day as well.  Very frustrating.  So, we bought a tracphone to leave at the house and asked her not to bring her phone with her anymore.  So far, so good.  The kids have been well behaved and have been receiving the attention they deserve.  We still have minor things that we would love to be better, but I don't know if it is worth being super nit-picky over or not.

Well, Friday afternoon I was trying to find a babysitter for Saturday night and I asked Chelsie out of desperation.  I didn't want her to have to watch the boys on the weekend since she watches them all week, but there was no one else to ask.  So when I asked her if she wanted to babysit, she said yes she could.  I told her to go home and ask her mom to be sure.  So I texted her a couple hours later to double check that she could babysit and she said yes.  Woohoo!  Date night for Chris and I.  Well, Saturday morning I get a text from her saying that her mom said she wanted to do something with her Saturday night, so she wouldn't be able to babysit!!!  UGH!  What a pain!  Thankfully Chris wasn't up for a date since he didn't get homne from work until almost 7pm anyway, but come on!!  How frustrating!!!

Our neighbor girl Stephanie has a little sister that is 13, so I think I am going to start "training" her for our babysitter!  She is a little young, but I know she comes from a good family and that she is going to be honest and trustworthy.
